Anon formed late 2002 when percussionist Jon Martin joined with Alfred and Rebecca Penn to create music motivated by their passion for telling the story of Jesus Christ to others. Jon, born and raised in Massachusetts, is a former Marine. He and his wife Cherie currently reside in Jacksonville, NC where they work with the Navigators as life coaches for Marines and Sailors aboard Camp Lejeune. Alfred met Rebecca during a ministry training event in California called Spirit West Coast. They are both on staff with the Navigators and live with their daughter Carolyn in Jacksonville, NC. Alfred is Reserve Marine who has been recalled to active duty. Anon has been joined by bassist Scott Semrad from New Bern, NC. At 17, he is the youngest member of the group. Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Scott can be found worshipping with Calvary Chapel of Jacksonville. In 2005 Anon came full circle and teamed up with Cleintell Entertainment to perform live for a ministry of music for all of Camp Lejeune’s faithful. In June 2005 Al Penn contributed to the Riverwalk Festival. He played for two separate performances by “April” and “Antoine Parker” with over 4500 in attendance during the whole festival. Anon is blessed to bring a different style of Christian rock, folk and neo-soul music to the forefront. Support our troops as we pray for their safe return and sing praises for their everyday heroism. God is good!!!! All the time!!!!
